May is traditionally a bit of a nutty time for moms. So I’m surprised it didn’t trip my panic button more when the contract for my upcoming book included a June 1 deadline for my manuscript draft.
But that was months ago, when it still seemed I had so much time, and anyway, I am excellent at underestimating how quickly time passes and overestimating how much activity I can cram into a typical week.
I’m getting the picture now. It’s go-time, friends. I’ve been taking long walks, staring off into space while mulling, starting and stalling and starting again long enough. Now it’s time to put my head down and get these fingers flying like they mean it.
That means things may look a little sleepy around here until I’m on the other side of my deadline, but I’m guessing you won’t notice because most of my readers are moms and as established, May is a nutty time for moms. But I wanted to give you a heads-up, just in case, and some more details about what you can expect.
A few housekeeping notes:
I’m pausing paid subscriptions until June. That means that if you’re a paid monthly subscriber, you won’t be charged this month. If you’re an annual subscriber, your subscription will be extended by a month.
I’ll still be putting out my weekly podcast, The Tea’s Made, so that’s an easy way to keep up with me. (This is also a great opportunity for me to make a humble request: if you love the podcast, would you consider leaving me a review on your podcast app of choice? I got some really mean reviews from a handful of people because they hate-stalk a former guest, and it’s a bummer to see those up top.)
If you’re new here, this is also a great time to sign up for a free subscription to my Substack so you don’t miss anything when I am officially back.
I’m also going to try opening my chat thread so that anyone, not just me, can start a conversation. That means you can start your own book club posts, or a thread on any topic - and I hope you will!
My DMs are open and I would love to hear from you. Book-writing mojo and encouragement would be much appreciated, as would your thoughts, concerns, or musings about midlife and mothering older kids. I need all the creative inspiration I can get.
You got this! 💛
