Hi! Welcome to The Tea’s Made, your place for cozy connection & creativity, self-care and community.

I’m Meagan Francis, and if you’re a podcast listener, you may know me as the co-host of The Mom Hour, or host and creator of The Tea’s Made with Meagan Francis (formerly known as the Mother of Reinvention podcast.)

If you’ve been around for a bit longer, you may also remember me as the writer behind The Happiest Mom book and The Happiest Home blog, or numerous other parenting articles and books I wrote when my kids were small.

For the past decade, my life has in a pretty constant state of reinvention as my five kids began to grow up and leave the house, my career pivoted multiple times, and I divorced, moved, moved, moved again, and finally remarried last spring.

Now in my late-mid-40s, things are starting to settle down; and while my kids are still growing and flying at an alarming pace, I finally feel prepared to be a center of calm and peace both for them and for myself.

After years of actively steering through upheavals, I now find myself seeking a new, gentler way of relating to the changes and challenges of modern human life.

Enter The Tea’s Made.

Why Tea?

I’ve always loved drinking tea, both as a beverage and an activity. There’s something special and alive about tea and the practice of making, drinking, and sharing it, and to me, saying “The tea’s made!” is akin to welcoming in a good friend for an unhurried conversation. Maybe we’ll talk about cheerful, light, and fluffy topics; perhaps we’ll delve into difficult, or even tense, conversation. Probably it’ll be a little bit of both. I truly believe that even in these polarizing times, humans are more alike than different; and I aim to create an environment that prioritizes human connection over all else.

That said, while I want this space to feel like a conversation over a cup of tea, we’ll be covering lots of topics here. In the past I’ve written a lot about motherhood and family life (I’m working on a book about parenting bigger kids), body image, aging, difficult family histories, various creative pursuits, and even my hair.

In the near future I plan to write more about my later-in-life return to the Christian faith (don’t expect an altar-call conversation story; it’s far less dramatic - yet also somehow more surprising, to me at least - than that), my relationship with nature, yoga (I’ve got a completed-teacher-training-then-completely-dropped-out story to share) as well as my growing interest in herbalism and natural medicine. And, of course, tea! My interest in and knowledge of all kinds of teas is growing expansively and I can’t wait to share what I’m learning with you.
