I do love this line: "these days, getting to spend so much time with my older kids feels extravagant instead of just everyday." You know I lead a parallel life to yours -- similar aged kids, larger family, etc. That line exactly describes how wonderful it felt to see 3 of my "boys" (now clearly all men) sitting at my kitchen bar, eating Thanksgiving leftovers, on Fri. How it felt to see Wicked with *2* of them on Sat., even though it had initially been planned as just my oldest and I. It is a glorious feeling, this spending time w our grown children!
Yes! I think of you often when dealing with all the realities (good and challenging) of mothering my boys (err, men.) It's so much more fluid than it used to be, with our grown humans coming in and out as their lives allow and us just here, soaking it all up while we can :)
Have you ever gotten the Tea Advent Calendar from Adagio Tea's? It's a great gift for tea lovers. So much fun to open each day and a great way to discover new flavors of tea!
And, thanks for the mention! Looking forward to the next episode! ❤️
"A part of me is sad about that, but I also know that getting here has been the point all along." Loved this line. Thanks for sharing these thoughts, Meagan. Can't wait to read more!
I'm trying to balance this as well. Never thought I would be the parent who was sad to see my kids grow up (I have a few friends who are like this in a not-so-healthy way, IMO) but it is bittersweet. Especially around the holidays. Simple things like shopping for stocking stuffers are a strong reminder that we don't have little kids any more.

I haven't gotten that one, but a few years ago a friend got me the David's Tea advent calendar, and it was so fun.
I bought this for myself back in October and looked forward to it for weeks! Loving it so far.
That's great! I hope you discover some new teas you like.

Thanks Stacy! I'm sure it's hard to believe that will be you one day, eh?
It does! But also, the fact that I'm down to just one at home with me, with an end in sight for that, also feels unreal.

It’s sometimes hard to imagine that that will one day be my season in life, but I’m so thankful for your perspective shared!
Thank you - it truly does feel impossible to imagine when you're "in the trenches."
