I'm pretty sure I read that Jewett book back in college when I took a (wonderful) class on 19th century women writers. I really liked everything in that class, so I'm sure I liked that book, too! I'm always so surprised when I discover old-timey writers I really enjoy.

And those flowers are so pretty. Farm bouquets are my favorites! All the colors. 😍

We’re away for two weeks right now, and though I really am savoring every moment, for me the best part of travel is getting home.

I lost my Apple Watch for 10 days - from 4th of July until today. I had this very strong feeling I had done something strange with it - like, chucked it in a bin in a room I was deep-cleaning and then put that bin on a shelf somewhere. So rather than tear the house apart looking for it I just sort of accepted that I might not have a smart watch...forever? Or until I found it? And then today I discovered it in a big beach tote in the trunk of my car. I was happy to have it back, but also really glad that I just accepted its absence for those ten days without actively looking for it.

I finally charged my Garmin back up this morning and have been wearing it all afternoon but have barely looked at it today! It's funny how quickly our brains can be trained...and re-trained.

This was such a fun read. Thank you for taking some time on your re-entry day to give us some real life updates. Loved the chicken and garden photos!!

I had very similar thoughts when I came back from my recent trip, but did not have the ability to put words to what I was thinking about. Thank you so much for your thoughtful description! 💙 💙

💚 Also praying for your family member!!

I had a lot of luck just using good quality Greek yogurt - Fage or Chobani - from the store to start, and then I try to reserve 1/2 cup of my own yogurt for the next batch and so on (sometimes I use it up and have to start over with store bought.) I use this slow cooker recipe:https://omadarling.com/crock-pot-yogurt/ and as long as I am careful not to let it go too long I have had really good results!
