The hush and quiet of a busy neighborhood, the sound of honking geese overhead, beautiful sunrises and early sunsets, crisp fresh air, the comfort of drawing inwards to a warm cozy home, to rest and nurture myself and my family.
Oh, cardinals. I haven't seen as many this year as I did last - maybe I haven't been paying close enough attention :) Will have to remedy that straightaway.
As someone who loves gardening and growing things, winter can be tough for me. But my favorite thing is watching the birds visit our feeders. I don't think I pay attention to birds in the summer, but in the winter, they are a lifeline. I love that I can see a bird feeder from my dining room table, as it's no longer blocked by redbud leaves. I watch the birds flit back and forth from the feeder to the surrounding branches. What do they do when a squirrel comes? How long does it take them to come back if I open the door and startle them?
I was just telling Laura in another comment that I haven't seen as many cardinals this year as last, and I just realized...it's because I moved, and don't have a feeder right outside my window anymore! I am remembering what a joy that was for me last year - definitely need to do something about it :)
I love how for some living things, things their prime. Like this little bush in my backyard. I love walking around looking for bright green moss, and other hidden gems.
My daughter and I took an early morning walk at the park as the sun was rising. We were the first to arrive at the park and the quiet spoke volumes as we lapped our way around. A few trees held on to their last remaining leaves while others shone bright in their nakedness. The opportunity to breathe in the crisp damp air is a gift I want to experience daily.

I love it, Sheri. The sunrises and sunsets this time of year are really something to behold, aren't they?
Slow snowfall melting as it hits the ground, a chill in the air, condensation on the windows, and cardinals on the fence. A beautiful winter day!

I thought I could attach an image, but apparently not! :)

Already did! Wasn't sure where best to post.

I just came inside and your words are making me want to head right back out, Dana!
